Last August, I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of two of the kindest souls, Erin and Bryce, in the picturesque town of Canmore, Alberta. The wedding was nothing short of a photographer's dream, as everything fell into place beautifully, and the couple radiated love and joy throughout the day.
We began at the Solara Resort, where Erin got ready with her mom and best friends by her side. She looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous gown, and her excitement was palpable as she prepared to marry the love of her life. Bryce, too, was beaming with excitement as he and the boys got ready.
One of Erin's requirements for their wedding was to make the most of the Rocky Mountains surrounding them. So our first stop was in Banff National Park, where Erin and Bryce shared an intimate first look at Vermillion Lakes on the dock. The serene lake was the perfect backdrop for this special moment, with Mount Rundle towering in the distance. It was truly breathtaking.
We then took a gondola up Mount Norquay to do photos amongst the wildflowers and the incredible views of Banff below. Banff was definitely showing off that day! During the shoot, I had to give the "Best Dad Award" to Erin's dad for all of his help, especially with the veil shot! It worked so perfectly! It's always so heartwarming to see families come together to help make the day extra special.
We then made our way back to Canmore to the Old Engine Bridge where we met with the wedding party for some fun shots. They were an absolute blast, and their energy and enthusiasm made for some truly amazing photos.
The couple had their ceremony at the gorgeous Our Lady of the Rockies Church. As Erin walked down the aisle with her parents, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Bryce smiled as he watched his future wife approach him. Rings were exchanged, documents signed and they sealed the deal with a perfect first kiss!
The reception was held at the lovely Cornerstone Theatre, which was beautifully decorated with sparkling lights and rustic centerpieces. The couple had their first dance under the lights with family and friends watching. It was a magical moment, and it was clear how happy everyone was to be there celebrating the love between this wonderful couple.
This day was something out of a fairytale. It was a beautiful wedding, and I was honored to have been a part of it. So much love and happiness filled the air, and I was so grateful to be able to capture these special moments for Erin and Bryce. I hope you enjoy their story!
